Naturally, some of what we had planned for 2021 has now been forwarded to 2022.This has given us the chance to evaluate and enhance some of our programmes.
Whilst membership has remained steady, we must continue to push the Union forward as much as possible and we will begin to use our Social Media platforms in a much more progressive manner to achieve this. We will continue to look at incentives, tax relief and lower entry levels for students.
#All Chefs Allowed
Our fight to gain equality and respect for our female chefs will be extensive in 2022 with a solid campaign and plans to bring on board Female Chefs and notable others to back up our fight.
Hopefully, this year we can gain access to colleges and schools to improve their understanding of the profession and their legal rights and responsibilities of themselves and their employers, and the philosophy of Chef Wellbeing. We will continue to work with the Fair Kitchens Scheme in the pursuit of a better working environment for all UK chefs
Our fight to have a statutory Maximum Working Temperature continues and hope full we can continue where we stopped in 2020 and revive the substantial progress and contacts that we made in 2020.
We will make Institutional Sexism a major platform in 2022 and continue to highlight those companies and institutions that clearly have little or few diversity targets or policies and who continue to promote a male dominance within their society or business.
The Good Work Plan.
Unichef will continue work together with The Director for Labour Enforcement and hopefully a new Minister as the agreed proposals are implemented and achieve statute. We will continue to keep members up to speed on all new legislation and developments
Asthma Awareness and Laurens Law
Unichef will continue its active programme of support for Asthma Awareness in all kitchens. We will continue to follow on from our huge success in 2021 and work with politicians and the MHRA in seeking a full conclusion to Laurens Law and continue to work with Asthma UK in promoting Asthma Awareness in UK Kitchens
Equality and Diversity
Unichef will continue to strive in all aspects of Diversity, Equality and Inclusion. The Union will set out its policies on these issues and actively engage and appoint representatives to educate and reach out to those sections of our community that need further support an encouragement.
Unichef will continue to build on the excellent friendships built up during the pandemic with other likeminded societies and cultures around the world to the benefit our our members
2022 has been designated Unichefs year of #RESPECT.We will actively promote this throughout the year making our statement loud and clear that #RESPECT for all chefs that carry out the difficult work we do should a prime concern and feature in our working day
