Membership Status and Register of Members
It is important that every prospective member understands the nature of membership with Unichef, The National Chefs Union.
Representation
Representation is discretionary and subject to case assessment.
This may include:
- attendance at disciplinary or grievance hearings (where appropriate)
- support during ACAS processes
- assistance in preparing for tribunal proceedings
Important Information
- A three-month qualifying period applies before full union involvement in workplace disputes
- Members receive general advice from day one
- Support beyond general advice is provided following assessment
- All cases are reviewed on an individual basis and may be escalated to a caseworker where appropriate

Accessible Membership
£7 per month

Where a higher level of support is required, members may be guided toward Standard or Priority Membership following triage.

Standard Membership
£14 per month

Members benefit from professional workplace advice and, where appropriate, union support in resolving workplace issues.

Support & Case Involvement
Following the qualifying period, members may receive support with:
- workplace issues and disputes
- disciplinary and grievance matters
- employer correspondence
- ACAS processes and mediation
- preparation for employment tribunal matters (where appropriate)

Priority Membership
£50 per month (maximum 3 months)
Click the purple image above to subscribePriority Membership is a short-term access grade designed for members who require immediate union support.
This option removes the standard three-month qualifying period and allows Unichef to allocate the time and resources needed to support urgent or active workplace matters.
How It Works
- Each case is subject to an initial triage assessment
- Priority Membership applies for a maximum of three months
- After this period, membership will automatically revert to Standard Membership (£14 per month)

Important Information
- Priority Membership is only applied where additional time and resources are required
- Only urgent or complex cases will require Priority Membership
- All support is subject to case assessment and triage

It is IMPERATIVE that you complete all of the fields accurately, or it may delay your subscription.
Your email address MUST be valid and working as the system will send you a validation email to confirm your email address; if your email address is typed in wrong it will delay your subscription, so please double-check to make sure it is entered correctly.
Subscribers will be held for administrator approval, so there may be a short delay whilst your membership is approved.
Your personal account menu is located in the top menu and shows as your logged in name - click this to open the menu, and you will see an entry titled 'Manage Subscriptions' see below:
When you click/tap this option, you will be taken to the subscription page. If you are already registered, you will have the option to choose any upgrade options if any are available. At all times, you are in control of your subscriptions.
